A Bold Move for HR Tech: Marko Perme on Gecko HRM’s New Journey

Agilcon has just announced that Gecko HRM stepped onto its path as an independent company, Gecko HRM, d.o.o. 

The separation was done as a demerger, where part of Agilcon d.o.o.’s assets, along with related rights and obligations, were transferred to a new company. Gecko HRM, d.o.o., took over all legal relationships connected to those assets as Agilcon’s legal successor. The ownership structure remains unchanged.

Since Marko Perme has now taken the role of being Agilcon’s Group Director and the new Gecko HRM’s CEO, we are happy to share his view on this topic and a new era for Gecko.

1. Marko, what was the main reason behind the decision to establish Gecko HRM as an independent company?

Gecko HRM was founded in 2010 under Agilcon’s wing. It has been growing rapidly, both in terms of our solution’s capabilities and the needs of our customers.

We are now present on 30+ markets and support mid-sized companies and large enterprises from different industries, such as Finance & Insurance, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, IT & Technology, Retail, Manufacturing, Energy and Telecommunications.

Creating space for the Gecko team to grow with more focus and autonomy has been key to encouraging creativity, agility, and ownership. It reflects our commitment to building a strong product mindset culture – one where people have the freedom to experiment, contribute meaningfully, and grow together.

By becoming an independent company, we can dedicate 100% of our focus to HR technology, investing in innovation, expanding our team, and responding even faster to market demands. This move allows us to accelerate our mission: creating intuitive, flexible, and powerful HR solutions that truly make a difference.

2. Can you tell us more about the new Gecko HRM team and their background?

The Gecko HRM team is a group of 30+ passionate HR tech experts with deep knowledge of HR processes and the Salesforce ecosystem.

We have a strong mix of HR specialists, experienced developers, consultants, project managers, and customer success specialists who have been shaping the platform for years. Many of us have a background in HR, which means we understand the real challenges that HR professionals face.

This unique combination of technical expertise and practical HR knowledge allows us to build solutions that are both powerful and user-friendly.

3. Agilcon has won many people & culture awards in the past. How will you ensure that your good internal practices are also introduced into Gecko HRM?

At Agilcon, we’ve always believed that a great company starts with great people. 4. What steps have been taken to ensure a smooth transition for clients and partners?

We’ve been preparing for this transition for a long time, and the entire process has been designed to be seamless for our customers. All contracts, services, and support have been transferred without disruption. Our customers are working with the same teams, using the same solutions, and receiving the same high-quality service they always have.

To make sure everything runs smoothly, we’ve also provided clear communication, updated legal frameworks, and ensured that all financial and administrative processes are correctly aligned. Our priority has been to provide stability and continuity for our clients.

5. As an independent company, what are Gecko HRM’s key priorities and vision for the future?

I’m excited about the team we’re building, the innovations we’re working on, and the potential we have to impact HR professionals’ daily lives. This is more than just technology – it’s about making work better for people. And that’s something worth getting excited about.
