Performance Talk: Driving Meaningful Conversations
Gecko’s Performance Management just got a huge upgrade. It’s designed as a build-as-you-go solution that helps organisations gradually introduce best HR practices for evaluating performance.
Instead of relying on outdated, once-a-year evaluations, companies can now foster ongoing, structured conversations between managers and employees. This shift supports better alignment, stronger engagement, and more agile talent development.
The redesigned Performance Talk offers guided reflections and clear feedback prompts, making it easier for teams to prepare, communicate, and grow. It seamlessly connects with regular 1:1s and Goal-Setting features, turning performance management into a continuous, strategic process.
Also, the new Reflection section now helps employees and managers prepare for more meaningful discussions by guiding them through focused questions on performance and development.

New Gecko Goals Bring Clarity to Performance Reviews
Outdated, static goals often lose relevance fast. That’s why Gecko now offers a flexible, standalone goal-setting process within our performance management solution, giving organisations the tools to set, track, and evaluate goals in real time.
With measurable targets, editable goals, and a more holistic evaluation approach, this solution ensures that employee objectives stay aligned with evolving business needs.

Here’s what’s new:
- Independent Goal Management: Goal setting now functions as a separate process from Performance Talks, giving teams greater flexibility to adapt and align throughout the year.
- Clear, Measurable Targets: Goals are defined with specific metrics and outcomes, making progress easier to track and evaluation more objective.
- Flexible Tracking & Updates: Goals can be updated at any time, allowing employees and managers to keep them relevant, achievable, and aligned with shifting priorities.
- Contextual Goal Evaluation: Instead of rating each goal in isolation, managers assess overall progress, taking into account achievements, challenges, and impact, for a more balanced performance review.
Gecko also introduces powerful field types that make goal tracking more visual, dynamic, and user-friendly. Progress bars provide a clear view of goal completion, while deadline fields highlight critical dates.

Progress bar colours can automatically adjust based on goal status, offering instant visual cues. Field dependencies further streamline the experience by showing or hiding fields based on specific conditions, keeping interfaces clean and relevant.
With these changes, managers can now assess outcomes in context, not just by numbers, supporting fairer and more strategic decision-making.
Gecko Redesign: Absence Requests Got a Fresh Look!
The absence request process has been redesigned with an updated look, offering a cleaner and more modern interface. While the functionality remains the same, the new layout organises key details like dates, approval status, and total approved days in a more intuitive way.

This update makes it easier to navigate and review requests, giving you a smoother experience without changing the process you’re already familiar with.
Payroll Export: Export All Employee Payroll Data With Ease
With the new Payroll Export feature, you can now easily export all payroll-related employee data, including Employee, Job, Employment, Family Members, Bank Accounts, Insurance, and Benefit data.
With smart filters, companies can export only the information they need, saving time and reducing errors.

History tracking makes it easy to spot updates over a selected time period. If any employee data has changed, the entire row is highlighted, with individual changes color-coded for clarity.
For employees with changes, a detailed change history window can be opened, where all modifications are shown in one place, including old and new values, timestamps, and the user responsible for the update.

All data can be exported to Excel, ensuring seamless payroll processing and improved payroll data tracking for the company.
